Board of Directors Kathleen Babcock, JD - President
Kathy Babcock is a local attorney who has served on the Board for over 10 years. She is committed to ensuring treatment is available to the members of the community. Kathy has served as a volunteer tutor for reading, math and ESL, mediator and advocate for substance abuse treatment. Giving people opportunities to change their lives is a deeply held conviction that motivates her to continue this work.
Susan Sullivan, MD - Secretary
Susan Sullivan is a physician with extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, practiced in both large tertiary care and community hospitals. "Working in Emergency Medicine made plain the impact substance abuse and mental health concerns have on an individual, families, and communities. Facilitating treatment and offering hope and recovery are key to individual and community health." Dr. Sullivan's commitment to treatment and recovery is evidenced by her 10 years serving on the KDC Board.
Andrew Boschma, CPA- Treasurer
Andy Boschma is a Certified Public Accountant with Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Accounting degrees from the University of Michigan. As the current CFO of MKM Ventures, LLC, he brings over 35 years of accounting, business, and tax expertise to Key Development Center.
Andy’s support of KDC is enhanced by his 15-plus years of Board experience, including roles as Treasurer and Board Chairman of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, and Treasurer for both Allen Creek Preschool and Blue Star Service Dogs. Introduced to KDC in August 2020, Andy saw the importance of KDC’s mission in serving his Livingston County community. “I have experienced the devastation addiction can inflict on individuals and families, and am proud to support this critically important community resource,” said Andy.
Since joining the Board in October 2020, Andy has contributed countless hours of accounting and tax assistance to the organization. His service has had a profoundly positive impact on KDC.
Thomas Litzinger, PhD - Director
Dr. Thomas Litzinger is an award-winning trainer, educator, and automotive aftermarket executive. Dr. Litzinger completed his Doctorate in Community Care, Counseling: Traumatology from Liberty University’s School of Behavior Sciences and is a licensed Psychologist in the State of Michigan. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at KDC and volunteers as a small group leader in his church’s youth ministries and serves as a deacon. He also volunteers as a basketball coach in his local community.
