A decorated counselor Darlene has the following credentials: Certified forensic counselor, Certified criminal justice addictions specialist, Certified Domestic Violence therapist, from the National Association of Forensic Counselors, Certified sexual offender treatment specialist for adults and adolescents from Ohio University, Certification in gerontology from Marygrove college. Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Substance Abuse Professional (DOT/SAP). Darlene has been trained in the following area by the U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections: Thinking for a Change (integrated approach to changing offender behaviors). The National Children's Advocacy (Forensic Interviewing of Children) Darlene has been a therapist for over 20 years. She has extensive knowledge working in correctional facilities which includes facilitating reentry programs for males being released from prison, adult drug court, as well as family and child reunification. Darlene works with both male and female, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mortal Recognition Therapy. Sarah is a Peer Recovery Coach who has been with KDC for 2 years. She brings a wealth of lived experience navigating the many obstacles in early recovery. Her goal is to better equip individuals struggling to achieve long term sobriety. Sarah is a 2018 graduate of the Livingston County Adult Drug Court and now serves as a team member, helping participants to establish a solid foundation for their recovery. She is passionate about supporting women who are seeking to make positive changes for themselves and their children. Sarah is aware of the unique challenges that women with substance use issues face, she seeks to empower them to make positive and lasting changes. She also enjoys visiting local cider mills and going to the beach with her children. |
