Executive Director

LMSW, CPS

Lisa received her Bachelor's in Business Administration in Accounting from Cleary University, Master's Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked as a School Social Worker since 2011 and came to Key Development Center in 2018 as a Prevention Specialist then the Director of Prevention.

Intake Coordinator

Abby is a Limited Licensed Bachelor's Social Worker. She obtained her Bachelor's in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University. She has background work in Child Welfare and Domestic Violence fields.
​Abby enjoys road trips, live music, movies, and spending time with family and friends.

​Availability: Varies; typically Monday-Thursday 9am-6:30pm, Friday by appointment

Brenan Casler

Director of Operations

Specialties include interdisciplinary interventions for substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma etc.

Brenan is a Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker who has a bachelor of science in psychology and sociology from Central Michigan University and a Master of Social Work degree from Michigan State University.
Brenan has 8 years years of experience working with families in the child welfare system, supervision, program management of family preservation programs, group facilitation, and individual therapy.
​Brenan enjoys reading, watching sports, and playing guitar.

Availability: Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm

Darlene McMathis-West

Darlene completed her Bachelor's Degree in Social work from Marygrove College. Darlene pursued her Masters in counseling from Central Michigan University. Darlene studied humanities in London, England. A decorated counselor Darlene has the following credentials: Certified forensic counselor, Certified criminal justice addictions specialist, Certified Domestic Violence therapist, from the National Association of Forensic Counselors, Certified sexual offender treatment specialist for adults and adolescents from Ohio University, Certification in gerontology from Marygrove college. Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Substance Abuse Professional (DOT/SAP). Darlene has been trained in the following area by the U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections: Thinking for a Change (integrated approach to changing offender behaviors).  The National Children's Advocacy (Forensic Interviewing of Children)
Darlene has been a therapist for over 20 years. She has extensive knowledge working in correctional facilities which includes facilitating reentry programs for males being released from prison, adult drug court, as well as family and child reunification. Darlene works with both male and female, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mortal Recognition Therapy. 
Darlene’s mission as a therapist is to provide her clients with the tools they need to operate life's hurdles. She strives to help navigate productive solutions through attentive processing and critical thought. While working with her clients Darlene prefers to see herself as a co-pilot in their life destination.

JoAnna Woods

Specialties include substance use disorders anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, depression and emotional regulation.

JoAnna is a clinical therapist who has a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University.
JoAnna has 12 years of social work experience; working with both individuals and families. She has familiarity in working with issues related to substance abuse disorders, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and depression. JoAnna uses a strength-based, client-centered approach, and specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. 
JoAnna enjoys leatherwork, weightlifting, and spending time with loved ones.


Availability: Monday-Thursday; mornings, afternoons and some evenings.

Mike brings a simple, jargon-free approach to therapy centered on asking hard questions and empowering you through honesty and openness. Mike is in recovery. He enjoys scary movies, basketball and kayaking.

Lynn is a Registered Nurse with a BSN from Wayne State University and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor from an addiction study program at Madonna University. 

Lynn has over 20 years experience working with Key Development Center specializing in group therapy and educational programs.
​Lynn loves facilitating groups and is passionate about her work, hosta gardens, dog and family.

Sarah Pearlman

Sarah is a Peer Recovery Coach who has been with KDC for 2 years. She brings a wealth of lived experience navigating the many obstacles in early recovery. Her goal is to better equip individuals struggling to achieve long term sobriety. Sarah is a 2018 graduate of the Livingston County Adult Drug Court and now serves as a team member, helping participants to establish a solid foundation for their recovery. She is passionate about supporting women who are seeking to make positive changes for themselves and their children. Sarah is aware of the unique challenges that women with substance use issues face, she seeks to empower them to make positive and lasting changes.
​She also enjoys visiting local cider mills and going to the beach with her children.

Stacy Sledz

Stacy is a Licensed Masters of Social Worker. She graduated from Eastern for both her LMSW and BSW. She has almost 10 years of experience in the field since she received her degree, although she has many years of prior experience with various healthcare work. She spent over 8 years in the jail system as the Mental Health Supervisor. During COVID the jail lost their contract and that is when she came to work for Key Development Center. Stacy Specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing with a client-centered approach. 
Stacy enjoys spending time with her three children and can often be found camping in the summer. She and her children just completed the Great Cycle Challenge, which was a 50-mile bicycle challenge to fundraise for kids with cancer.

Specialties include Sexual Abuse treatment, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Adjustment Disorders.

Terri is a Licensed Master's in Social Worker who has a bachelor of Arts in Psychology from U of M Ann Arbor, MI and a Master's degree in Social Work from U of M Ann Arbor, MI. 
Terri has been practicing Social Work for 27 years. Working with individuals, families and Children and Adolescents. 
Terri enjoys gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and her Husband also enjoy traveling and the outdoors.

Availability: Thursday 11am-8pm

Timothy completed his undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University, Timothy went on to complete his Masters in Social Work at Wayne State University. Before setting roots at Key Development Center Timothy had an extensive history of working in the restaurant industry.  Timothy has been in the field of social work since 2015. With a focus on mental health, Timothy primarily focuses on substance abuse with a preference for alcoholism. 
In his free time, Timothy likes to stay active. Timothy enjoys lifting weights, hiking, and playing golf. He also enjoys spending time with his cat, Elvis.

Availability: Monday - Friday 11am - 8pm

Thomas Litzinger

Dr. Thomas Litzinger is a licensed psychologist in Michigan specializing in mental health and substance abuse counseling, with particular expertise in youth services. He holds a PhD in Community Care, Counseling & Traumatology from Liberty University's School of Behavioral Sciences.

At Brighton's Key Development Center, he provides vital counseling services and serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Litzinger brings a unique perspective to his practice, combining his clinical expertise with extensive leadership experience. As a dedicated community member, he actively serves youth through his church ministry and local coaching.

​His research on counseling practices has gained international recognition, demonstrating his commitment to advancing mental health care through evidence-based approaches.​

LaTonya Wilson

​

LaTonya completed her undergraduate at Oakland Community College and Oakland University. She went on to complete her Masters at Michigan State University.

​LaTonya has been in the field for 10 years, she has had great pleasure working with populations and fields of geriatrics, mental health, trauma, grief and loss, substance use, homelessness, LGBTQ population, probationers and finding employment for felons before reentering society.

Winkle our Canine Companion 

Winkle has been with Key Development Center since he was a few months old. On October 28th, he turned 1-years-old. He is our facility dog here to help bring social interaction, recovery motivation, comfort, and a feeling of safety. ​
