Session One: Self

Session Five: Sexism, Stereotyping, and Power 

Primary Goals:


  1. To help participants begin to identify who they are (not what they do) and what they feel
  2. To help participants begin to connect with one another in relationships of respect, mutuality and compassion

Module B
Session Six: Family of Origin
Session Seven: Mothers
Session Eight: Mother Myths
Session Nine: Fathers 
Session Ten: Understanding Abuse and Trauma
Session Eleven: Interpersonal Violence
Session Twelve: Creating Supportive and Loving Relationships 

Primary Goals:


  1. To help women explore their perceptions of their mothers and fathers
  2. To help women to understand how their relationships as children and as adults affect their addictive spirals
  3. To help women to understand the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships
  4. To help women to connect with one another in relationships of respect, mutuality and compassion

Module C
Session Thirteen: Sexuality and Addiction
Session Fourteen: Body Image 
Session Fifteen: Gender and Identity and Sexual Orientation 
Session Sixteen: Challenges of Healthy Sexuality 
Session Seventeen: Healthy Sexuality 

Primary Goals:


  1. To educate women about sexuality and, in particular, the sexual issues most often experienced by women with substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors
  2. To help women to restore or develop the participants appreciation for their bodies
  3. To help the participants to support one another in healing sexually

Module D 
Session Eighteen: What is Spirituality? 
Session Nineteen: Mindfulness, Prayer, and Meditation 
Session Twenty: Creating a Vision 

Primary Goals:


  1. To educate the group members about what spirituality is
  2. To help the group members to start spiritual journeys that they will continue throughout their lives
  3. To bring closure to their group experience
